Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use the La Cañada Flintridge Residents Directory. Continued use means that you accept them. If these conditions are not acceptable, do not use the service.

1. The Reference and Its Scope

La Cañada Flintridge Residents Directory is a private reference about the public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles County, and California. It links to sources such as the Los Angeles County Assessor, the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, Los Angeles Superior Court, the City Clerk, libraries, and archives. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with any office, court, or custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use these pages and any linked result only for a lawful purpose. Prohibited conduct includes using the service or information obtained through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision, including one about credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reports

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither the material on these pages nor a result returned by a linked search tool is a consumer report. It must not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose governed by the FCRA.

4. External Portals and Providers

Official sources linked from these pages, including the La Cañada Flintridge CPRA and Laserfiche route, the county Assessor, the Los Angeles Superior Court case portal, and the Lanterman House archive, operate under their own rules. Sponsored search tools and other third-party services do as well. Their content, availability, charges, and data practices are outside our control.

5. No Warranties

The service is supplied "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a page or linked portal is accurate, complete, current, available, or capable of returning a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or any linked resource, including a decision made from information found through them.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that results from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

8. Site Content

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt are welcome. Republishing an entire page or copying the material systematically is not permitted.

9. Revisions

These terms may be revised by posting a new version on this page. Use after a revision is posted means that the updated terms are accepted.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service. The restriction may occur at the operators' discretion and without advance notice.

11. California Law and Records Requests

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. California's Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., generally requires an agency to determine whether an identifiable record is disclosable within 10 calendar days, with a possible written extension of up to 14 additional days for unusual circumstances. A request for La Cañada Flintridge material should go to the department that holds it through the city's CPRA request route; county real-estate records go to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. Court records and records made confidential by a specialized law follow their own access procedures.

Nothing in these terms removes rights that may apply under California's CCPA and CPRA, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., or the Delete Act. Public records remain controlled by their actual custodian, not by this private reference.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, that provision is limited or removed only to the extent required, and the remaining terms continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Requests for official records must still go to the city, county, court, or state custodian identified there.
